NATIONAL: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants is the national, professional organization for all Certified Public Accountants. Its mission is to provide members with the resources, information, and leadership that enable them to provide valuable services in the highest professional manner to benefit the public as well as employers and clients.
  • Student Affiliate Membership in the AICPA is available as early as your freshman year in college through graduate school (only graduate students who are not already CPAs qualify).
  • Only students residing in the U.S. are eligible for membership
  • Dues = $35/year
  • A subscription to the Journal of Accountancy, The Tax Adviser, The CPA Letter
  • Ability to apply for two $2,500 AICPA/Accountemps scholarships (Available only to AICPA Student Affiliate Members)

Established in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association. The IIA is the internal audit profession's global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security.
  • Membership dues are offered at a reduced rate for educators and students.

CENTRAL ARKANSAS REGIONS: Central Arkansas Chapter of the IIA (Affiliate 107)
The Central Arkansas chapter of the IIA has been providing networking and informational meetings to its membership since 1972.
  • Students need only RSVP to attend the meetings.
  • The cost per meeting is the cost of the meal, which is reduced to 50% for students.

NATIONAL: Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)
The mission of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners is to reduce the incidence of fraud and white-collar crime and to assist the Membership in its detection and deterrence. To accomplish our mission, the ACFE:
  • Administers of the CFE Examination
  • Sets high standards for admission and continuing professional education
  • Requires CFEs to adhere to a strict code of professional conduct and ethics
Open to undergraduate students enrolled at least 12 semester hours (or equivalent) or graduate students enrolled at least 9 semester hours (or equivalent), in a college or university or equivalent. NATIONAL: National Association of Black Accountants (NABA)
Since 1969, the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. has been the leader in expanding the influence of minority professionals in the fields of accounting and finance. The goals of the Association include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • To promote and develop the professional skills of our members;
  • To encourage and assist minority students in entering the accounting profession;
  • To provide opportunities for members to fulfill their civic responsibility;
  • To ensure long-term financial stability and provide adequate resources to implement chapter, regional, and national programs; and

NABA sponsors several key programs and services designed to address the needs of students majoring in the fields of accounting, finance, or business administration. If you are a student interested in obtaining the grooming necessary to begin a successful career in business, obtaining competencies that are not taught in the classroom such as Business Etiquette, Networking, and Money Management, then NABA can equip you with these and more. NABA also provides student scholarship opportunities.
NATIONAL: Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting
Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) is the leading professional association dedicated to enhancing opportunities for Latinos in the accounting, finance and related professions. ALPFA is a not-for-profit entity registered with the Internal Revenue Service. Membership is open to anyone who shares our values, mission, and principles. Student Membership ($20) Requirements: Any person who shares our values, mission, and principles; and, provides evidence of current enrollment in an accredited high school, college, or university.
